Fly fishing for hard fighting wild brown trout and high quality stocked rainbow's in beautiful surroundings.
Bank fishing , and boats available to fish 86 hectares of water.

Cefni Angling Association Rules

 

1. Fly fishing only with conventional rod and line. Maximum permitted hook size is a No. 8 long shank. Tandems, double hooks and bubble float are not permitted.

2. The season shall commence on the 20th of March and end on the 17th October in each year.

3. No fish measuring less than 10 inches (25.4cm) to be taken, and if such a fish be caught it must be returned immediately and safely to the water.

4. The daily bag limit is 6 fish per angler. The maximum number of brown trout per daily bag limit shall not exceed 4. After six fish are caught and kept the angler must stop fishing.

5. No fish caught in the lake may be sold.

6. The Cefni dam to be used for transit only. No fishing from the dam.

7. Access to the Reservoir is via official access points only.

8. Boats MUST KEEP WELL CLEAR OF BANK ANGLERS and not approach nearer than 100 yards to the dam.

9. Members are to use sanitary arrangements provided by the Association and must not do any act liable to pollute the waters in the Reservoir.

10. All anglers must carry a valid Association Permit, Season Boat Permit (if applicable) and NRW/EA rod Licence, at all times

11. Hours of fishing shall be as follows:

 Members may not commence fishing before 04.30 hours and will cease fishing, be off Dwr Cymru/Welsh Water premises and the main entrance gate locked by 23.00 hours. No vehicles to be on Dwr Cymru/Welsh Water premises before 08.00 hours. Boats to be off the lake and rowlocks returned to the fishing hut by 22.45 hours.

12. Charges for the hiring of boats shall be as follows :

                        Whole Season                     £50.00

                        Whole Day                           £8.00

                        Part Day i.e. 08.00 – 12.00; 12.00 – 16.00; 16.00 - close £4.00 Two sessions £6.00

No advance booking of boats is permissible except via the Fishing Passport Scheme and agreed club competitions.

13. All litter should be cleared and not left in boats or on the bank. Nylon waste of any kind must not be discarded as serious injury to wildlife might result.

14. Rowlocks lost by members or visiting anglers must be replaced.

15. One assembled rod only per angler.

16. Trolling or trailing from a boat is not permitted.

17. Two anglers only allowed to fish from a boat, and the total number of persons in a boat shall not exceed three. Fishing Friend/ Associate Members are not allowed to fish under any circumstances.

18.Members are responsible for returning and securing boats in the boat launch bay even if the boat has to be collected the following day. 

19. The Association reserves the right to refuse application for membership without giving reason.

20. Vehicles are only permitted access to the boat launch bay for the  unloading/loading of equipment and they then must be parked in the official car park.

21. Dogs are NOT allowed in boats.

22. No person to fish more than four times on privilege tickets in a season.

23. Junior Anglers under 12 must be accompanied by an adult when fishing.

24. No person under the age of 18 years may be in a boat unless accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult.

25. (I) No fishing beyond the marker posts in the small lake.

      (ii) The use of eye protection (e.g. sunglasses) whilst fishing is recommended

       (iii) Anglers using their own seating in boats do so at their own risk

26.Life jackets /buoyancy aid must be worn at all times when using boats and are recommended for bank fishing.           

27. MEMBERS MUST COMPLETE AND SUBMIT THEIR ANNUAL CATCH CARD RETURN BY THE 17th OF NOVEMBER.
